Position Summary

Caribou Thunder is seeking a talented Systems Engineer III to join our team and support the Missile Defense Agency and Ballistic Missile Defense System. In this role, you will contribute to the development and delivery of high-fidelity threat modeling products. As a Systems Engineer III at Caribou Thunder, you will play a vital role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency and Ballistic Missile Defense System.

• Your responsibilities will focus on the development and delivery of high-fidelity threat modeling products.
• You will work closely with an agile software development team, contributing to the decomposition of capabilities and feature epics into user stories.
• You will drive backlog refinement activities, assist in meeting acceptance criteria for capabilities, features, and user stories, and collaborate with the product owner to identify key user needs and prioritize backlog items.
• In this role, you will ensure transparency to upcoming work of the product development team and foster a shared understanding of problems and solutions among team members.
• Regular communication with stakeholders will be crucial to understanding requirements and delivering incremental user functionality.
• Your strong systems engineering background and knowledge of Agile development methodologies, specifically the product owner role, will enable you to effectively contribute to the development process.

Minimum Requirements

• Systems Engineering Lifecycle background, including requirements derivation.
• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies, with a focus on the product owner role.
• Strong systems engineering background.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology and tools (e.g., Cameo) and SysML methods.
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Excellent time management skills.
• Certifications such as INCOSE, CSEP, OCSMP.
• Understanding of Modeling and Simulation (M&S), particularly for ballistic missile systems.
• Knowledge of flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and missile performance parameters relevant to modeling ballistic missiles (strong math, physics, or engineering background preferred).
• Knowledge of software design and performance in IT infrastructures, networks, and cloud solutions.
• Experience with Atlassian products, such as Jira and Confluence.
