Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Integration Engineer.
Your support would be to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) to assess the capabilities of the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support. Focus will be on hands-on support for MDA's distributed software threat simulation used in the testing of and training on MDA's tactical systems of current and future Software capabilities to the OSF Framework.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct installs, checkouts, integration, and testing for a variety of activities using Objective Stimulation Framework (OSF)
- Responsible for installing and configuring OSF in compliance with program instructions, ensuring functionality between MDA elements, and documenting configurations and results within the government lab.
- Integrate hardware and software in a HWIL lab environment.
- Operate OSF systems for lab test activities and produce test reports as needed.
- The OSF Integrator/Operator will also develop scenarios, convert threats to support specific internal test requirements, and make other test case modifications as needed.
- Adhere to current processes and procedures, participate in document reviews, attend limited meetings, provide status as requested, and collaborate with team members in person and electronically.
- Candidate must have working knowledge of UNIX and Linux variants.
- Ability to understand Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and perform analysis to troubleshoot issues within the framework or with an element interface.
- Tasks will primarily be performed in the local government facility but may also require support in various other CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited university
- 2-5 years' experience
- SECRET clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidate must be a self-starter, have strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working in a team environment.
- System Administration experience and certifications such as Security+ and/or Linux+ are highly desirable.
- Software testing background with experience in the development of software test plans, test procedures, and test reports
- Experience defining System Engineering Requirements Support for exercises and new capabilities through working groups and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM)
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) programs, System Test Labs, and operational knowledge
- Prior Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience supporting Pre-Flight/Ground Testing in an environment is highly desirable.
- Experience with RedHat OS, JAVA, and OpenSplice
- Test and Execution for the GMD System Trainer (GST) is highly desirable.
