Your role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer Lead - Computer Human Interfaces System (ADV00065B) to join our team with JETS II at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

What you'll do all day:

  • The Systems Engineer will be supporting the Computer Human Interfaces Sub-System, a critical sub-system of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon
  • Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget, and system requirements documents
  • Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering
  • Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications including integrated analyses and decomposition
  • Perform integrated analysis of the Computer Human Interfaces System, hardware, and software in relation to other Gateway Systems and the operational environment
  • Conduct trade studies to inform decision making
  • Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews
  • Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance
  • Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses with mitigation strategies
  • Work and present schedule and progress to customers and boards/panels
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5 - 10 years of related experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies including model based systems engineering
  • Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
  • Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
Desired skills and experience for this position:
