About the Role

The Systems Engineering (Network Architect), VP will be responsible for designing scalable, available, and performant network infrastructure in support of the GreenSky/Goldman SaaS Application.

Location: Alpharetta, GA / Remote

Duties & Responsibilities

This role will be point for defining and deploying network architecture to support the goals of the production operations teams with a focus on a holistic integration of GreenSky's on-premise networks and extensive cloud infrastructure. The network architect will be working closely with other cloud architects and development leads to rapidly deliver new applications and functionality.

The network architect will also lead and manage large network deployments and provide high-level technical support for data and cloud network systems and the engineering team. This role is to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's cloud infrastructure and data network to provide maximum performance and availability for Goldman end users and customers. Responsible for maintaining hardware and software standards, and working projects as needed to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures.

The position is responsible for working closely with the security team and senior technology leadership to ensure the network maintains required security compliances. In addition, the Architect should be proactive towards security by keeping up with the new technologies and potentially new features or additions to existing.

Required Skills/Qualifications

The Network Architect must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of cloud network infrastructure, network security devices and network management systems. This position requires excellent problem management and customer service skills.

• This is a hands-on Network Architecture and Systems Engineering role.
• Experience designing and managing advanced network/infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP including support for Direct Connect/Express Route, Shared VPC architecture and third-party security devices
• Scripting/Programming experience focusing on cloud automation tools such as CDK and Terraform
• Experience deploying hardware and SDN based IPS/IDS/Firewalls and Panorama from Palo Alto Networks
• Experience deploying and supporting Internet delivered applications services such as SaaS and/or large Internet transit or points of presence
• Experience integrating on-premise networks with cloud environments
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting hardware VPN devices such as Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto
• Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
• Demonstrated expertise in network administration (DNS, BGP, Load Balancing)
• Understanding of firewall concepts and rules
• Understanding of hardware or software Load Balancers in a large data center environment
• Systems administration in Linux/Unix or Windows
• Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
• Strong customer focus and ownership
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience with the Scrum Agile methodology
• Large scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud
• Must have 7 or more years of strong networking experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead and to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including
  a proven ability to communicate with technical and non - technical staff across multiple
  disciplines
• Demonstrated Documentation ability without compromising close attention to detail and
  accuracy
