Systems Engineer Principal/ SE Processes Focus Lead

As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

• Evaluation and modification of existing systems engineering process
• Business process modelling
• New SE process prioritization and development
• Process ownership delegation

Must-haves:

• Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education; higher education may be considered in lieu of experience
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices
• Experience with the following:
  • working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Systems Engineering modelling tools & analysis applications,
  • working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, self-starter
• Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams
• Creative problem solver, able to offer visual solutions

Preferred:

• Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
• Experience with value stream mapping
• Experience with Cameo No Magic/SysML
• Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
• Advanced knowledge of industry-standard systems engineering principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
• Exposure to processes used in Product Line Engineering
• Technical experience outside the aerospace industry, in the area of implementing model-based systems engineering and/or product line engineering
• Proven track record of leading and building a technical team including hiring, coaching & developing a high performance team within a changing environment.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $159,430.15 - $219,216.46
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
