Systems Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a Systems Engineer with strong Linux administration expertise along with experience managing developer tooling platforms. This role combines hands on RHEL support with ownership of Git based platforms and associated enterprise tools. The position operates in a 24/7 on call rotation model and requires occasional visits to Brisbane datacenter facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide L2 and L3 support for Linux systems primarily RHEL environments
Administer and support Git platforms including access management and repository governance
Manage and support enterprise tools used by engineering and operations teams
Perform system administration including patching upgrades performance tuning and troubleshooting
Participate in 24/7 on call rotation and respond to critical incidents
Collaborate with datacenter teams and visit Brisbane datacenter for hardware and troubleshooting support
Automate tasks using Python PowerShell or shell scripting
Ensure compliance with security patching and operational standards
Maintain documentation runbooks and SOPs
Work with infrastructure network security and application teams
Required Skills:
Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux RHEL administration
Experience managing Git platforms such as GitHub GitLab or Bitbucket
Experience supporting enterprise tools and developer platforms
Scripting and automation using Python and PowerShell
Understanding of Linux internals file systems permissions and processes
Experience in production support environments with SLAs
Basic networking knowledge including DNS and TCP IP
Security Clearance Requirement: Given the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents only.
On-call and Shift Expectations: Our positions are primarily focused on managed services, meaning you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our clients' IT systems (Applications and Infrastructure). Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may be required to work in shifts to provide continuous support. Additionally, you may need to be on call to address incidents promptly and perform after-hours deployment activities as needed. Your ability to effectively manage these responsibilities will be crucial to ensuring the seamless operation of our services and client satisfaction
