Ardent is seeking a Systems Engineer  to join our team.  

This is a Remote position.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a Systems Engineer. A highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems and infrastructure to meet the technological needs of our organization. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of system architecture, hardware and software integration, and have a proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing intricate systems.

Responsibilities:

System Design and Architecture:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and translate them into comprehensive system architecture designs.
• Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, including diagrams, technical specifications, and design rationale.

Infrastructure Development:

• Design, implement, and manage hardware and software infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
• Deploy and configure operating systems, middleware, and applications on various platforms, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Integration and Testing:

• Integrate new components and technologies into existing systems, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.
• Conduct rigorous testing, including functional, performance, and scalability testing, to identify and resolve potential issues.

System Monitoring and Optimization:

• Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance, availability, and security.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement, optimizing system performance and resource utilization.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement security measures, including firewalls, encryption, access controls, and vulnerability assessments, to safeguard system integrity and data privacy.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, and participate in audits as necessary.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors when necessary.
• Provide timely and effective technical support to resolve system-related incidents and minimize downtime.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Share knowledge and best practices with team members to enhance overall technical expertise.

Capacity Planning and Scalability:

• Analyze system performance metrics and usage patterns to predict future resource requirements.
• Develop strategies for system scalability and capacity planning, ensuring systems can accommodate growth and changing demands.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in systems design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in system architecture design and modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows), networking protocols, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Familiarity with security principles and best practices, including encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline tasks and processes.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and their interaction with systems engineering is desirable.
