MITRE is seeking an architect lead and/or systems engineer to join our Responsive Operational Planning team. You will guide modernization efforts and roadmap development and implementation to transition the current operational systems to next-generation operational capability.

• Integrate with sponsor team(s) and work as trusted partner with sponsor leadership in order to positively influence and shape the future (next generation) capabilities
• Conduct and/or lead engineering studies, requirements analysis, technology assessments relevant to modernization
• Develop program and technology roadmaps and corresponding implementation plans
• Guide execution modernization efforts leading to next-gen capabilities
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, MITRE deliverables, and MITRE recommendations leading to successful achievement of mission outcomes

Minimum Qualifications:

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
• The ability to qualify for and willingness to hold a TS/SCI DoD clearance
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams working on large and diverse projects
• Superior customer engagement and communication skills
• Accountable for individual contributions
• Knowledge and experience in two or more of the following areas
  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Distributed Systems
  • Systems Engineering (e.g., Requirements Analysis, Engineering Trade Studies, Technology Assessments, Technology Road-mapping)
  • Software Engineering
  • Software Development
  • Software development for Cloud and DevSecOps
  • Cyber Engineering
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Modeling and Simulation
  • Experimentation/Agile approaches
  • Air Operations, Battle Management (BM), or Command and Control (C2)
  • Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance

Preferred Qualifications :

Additional skills, specific tools, or knowledge of:

• Experience with SW-intensive programs
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
• Active TS/SCI clearance
