What you will do
Johnson Controls - Global Products builds a broad spectrum of products and systems to serve the building infrastructure needs provide energy efficient solutions which address occupant comfort, health, security, productivity, and safety.
Building operating infrastructures use 100's - 1,000's of smart embedded electronic devices to monitor and control systems deployed throughout a building. Johnson Controls is building our team and have a great opportunity for a Systems Engineering Architect to help support the platforms and subcircuits used in these systems to enable a standardized modular approach to achieve common set of capabilities
How you will do it
We need YOUR expertise in architecting the common function blocks, co-designing and/or overseeing the design of those function blocks to insure they the meet the architecture requirements and satisfy the targeted use cases. These standard platforms/designs will include supporting documentation, test data and support to help facilitate adoption by the business product lines they are intended to serve. This is a key role spanning many product lines globally and requires an understanding of system design, proficiency in electronic circuit functionality and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the global product teams.
You will also be participating in capture of common feature and functional requirements for modularized electronic design, leading design efforts for realization of modular designs and solutions and assisting in tool and process harmonization. Design responsibilities include:
- Core Microprocessor and Microcontroller designs
- Expertise in electronic hardware design to guide and facilitate modular solutions for common feature requirements.
- Accounting for customer, user and business requirements into system design concepts and platform/block recommendations to the organization on preferred design/architecture for a given set of requirements.
- VA/VE focus
What you will need
Required
- Minimum B.S in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years experience with electronic circuit design of embedded microprocessor-based PCBAs
Ability to work across global product development groups and building relationships to foster high performance collaborative outcomes - Strong engineering leadership, mentoring and change management
