The Systems Formulation & Implementation (SF&I) manages Aerospace Corporation technical support to Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and other NASA Centers and is seeking a Project Leader to help manage the portfolio of projects and studies as well as provide direct customer support on a range of simultaneous tasks.
Work Model: Position will be based in Pasadena, CA or in El Segundo, CA with some telework allowed.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform V&V/I&T activities for NASA Planetary and Earth Science Missions in development and ensure timely and complete delivery of technical services
  • Be responsible for ensuring integrity of the system requirements, including responsiveness to the parent requirements and decomposition with the subsystems
  • Be responsible for participation in project-level reviews, contributing content to the reviews, and presenting at those reviews for system requirements
  • Perform technical leadership of several tasks supporting JPL and NASA Planetary and Earth Science Missions in development. Interface with the customer and with the internal technical staff to ensure timely and complete delivery of technical services as shown in the statement of work
  • Develop detailed statements of work, establish multi-discipline technical teams, and execute project support for new and existing customers
  • Manage task labor and technical performance to ensure delivery within budget and within the period of performance; negotiate scope changes when appropriate
  • Listen to Project and Systems Managers to identify their hardest problems, circle back with recommendations to resolve, and follow through with resolution
  • Review technical deliverables to ensure the high-quality products
  • Prepare monthly technical reporting and briefings for internal and external audiences

What You Need to be Successful
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or technical discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering/technical discipline experience
  • Experience leading systems engineering activities, including mission architecture, concept studies and trades, requirements, design, integration, test, and verification.
  • Experience in leading technical teams
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required.
