Systems QA Test Engineer

We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to work out of our Eden Prairie, MN office. This position will work closely with Software Developers, Software Testers, and other internal departments testing the software of audiometry related products

Responsibilities

• Perform verification and validation activities related to product development (firmware and software)
• Collaborate with Software Developers, test team members and Product Management to better understand customer requirements
• Plan, design, draft, develop, and execute test cases and test protocols
• Accurately report discrepancies into the tracking database
• Monitor and update discrepancy reports as needed
• Methodically produce, reproduce, document, and communicate steps exhibiting a discrepancy
• Produce documentation to satisfy quality system requirements
• Take self-study initiative to learn new relevant products, software, and technology as needed; willing to learn and apply new industry standard requirements
• Learn and apply best software testing practices and tools under guidance of senior level Test Engineers
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and set up test environments (with assistance as needed) for troubleshooting product issues
• Proactively communicate with multiple internal departments such as Service, QA, Application Support, and Product Management team members
• Provide feedback to team on usability of GSI products
• Able to work in a matrix organization - both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree (Associate or Bachelor's) required
• 1-4 years of relevant work experience, preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with solid organizational ability and attention to detail
• Analytical problem-solver with the ability to complete multiple tasks with shifting priorities in an open-office environment
• Negligible amount of Travel
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects at any given time.
• Self-starter/self-initiator with the ability to learn new skills required to complete assigned tasks and/or projects.
• Background in medical equipment industry is desirable.
• Familiarity with FDA quality systems and HIPAA is desirable.
• Experience with Microsoft products required.
