Systems Reliability Engineer - 10:00pm-8:00am EST (International / US Remote)
Job Description
MEMX is searching for a Systems Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for providing support for MEMX exchange platforms.Â
-  This role will be covering the US evening shift of 10:00pm-8:00amESTÂ
- ALL international and US applicants will be considered, as this is a remote position with no specific location requirementsÂ

MEMX currently has a U.S. presence in these states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, & South Carolina. Â

What You’ll DoÂ
- Responsible for providing support of MEMX exchange platforms including on-call, respond to incidents and support triaging the issueÂ
- Help isolate and resolve unplanned system outagesÂ
- Work with cross-functional teams to support the availability of all MEMX exchange platforms. This includes market operations, systems, networking and development teamsÂ
- Help improve operational processes (such as deployments and upgrades) by identifying areas which need improvementÂ
- Document every action so that the findings turn into repeatable actions which eventually can be automatedÂ
- Debug issues as they arise, across the different services and interaction pointsÂ
- Enhance monitoring and alerting based on symptomsÂ
- Run nightly processes that are essential to exchange operations. We automate as much as possible but there are processes that require a level of manual input and attentionÂ
- Good understanding of Linux and know your way around Linux ShellÂ
- Mid to advanced Linux administration, scripting skillsÂ
- Proficiency in Bash scripting skills (Python is nice to have)Â
- Proficiency in a configuration management tool (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)Â
- Experience with monitoring toolsÂ
- Familiar with incident tracking / ticketing systems and escalation proceduresÂ
- Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience in operation support role with some incident responseÂ
- Highly curious, driven and have attention to detailÂ
- Seek problems to solve so to help make the platform betterÂ
- Strong urge to collaborate and improve existing processesÂ
- Have an urge for delivering quickly and iterating fastÂ
- Trading and/or exchange experience a plus but not requiredÂ
- Share our values and work in accordance to those valuesÂ
- Currently hiring for overnight shift (10:00pm-8:00am EST), weekend on-callÂ
