The Systems Engineering Section Manager will join our Modernization Engineering Solutions Engineering team leading a team of systems engineers supporting sustainment and enhancements for our V22 program. The Systems Engineering Section Manager is responsible for leading a team of approximately 20+ Systems Engineers through the systems engineering lifecycle including concept development, program pursuit and capture, requirements capture and analysis, system architecture design, requirements allocation and traceability, design reviews, system/subsystem integration, system verification and validation, and life-cycle product support. The Systems Engineering Section Manager must leverage multiple skill sets in areas such as Defense Avionics, Radar and RF applications, Structures, embedded computing, and networking.
Typical Duties
The Systems Engineering Section Manager is accountable to the organization for the execution of work and delivery of work products from their section. The Systems Engineering Section Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving section work products and ensuring work by section is performed on time and on budget. The Systems Engineering Section Manager is responsible for direct line management activities for their employees including performance management, career development, staffing allocation and ensuring their team has the resources needed to perform their work. The Systems Engineering Section Manager works closely with program managers to ensure customer satisfaction and business alignment. The Systems Engineering Section Manager is also expected to participate in proposals, roadmap development and growth of the section. Finally, the Systems Engineering Section Manager is responsible for the flow of communications between their section and Raytheon management, flowing communications down to their team and providing status and reports up to Raytheon management.

Required Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years related experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering or a minimum of 8 years related experience with a Master's Degree in Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program
- Strong leadership, organizational and team development skills
- Experience with development, integration and test of military avionics systems and platforms, architectures, capabilities, customers, and/or missions
- Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with multiple levels of management and individual contributors on teams
- Demonstrated sound ethical values built upon trust, respect, accountability, collaboration and innovation.
- Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Desired Skills:
- Experience managing staff (hiring, tasking, feedback, and/or discipline)
- Experience working the front end of the business, creating/reviewing RFPs, SOWs, BOEs, technical volumes, proposals, cost, and schedule estimates
- Experience setting up and managing engineering lab facilities
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools, and languages
- Familiarity and exposure to digital engineering transformation activities and modern product development methods
- Experience using DOORS, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, or other requirements management and system architecture tools
- Experience on DoD Internal Research and Development (IRAD, Customer Research and Development (CRAD), Technical Demonstration (TD), System Development and Demonstration (SDD) or Engineering, Manufacturing, & Development (EMD) Programs
- Experience with DoD development process
