Systems Software Engineer
Job Description
As a Systems Software Engineer, you will work with other scientists, engineers, and subject matter experts contributing to the development of cutting-edge, real-time test systems for government laboratories. You'll have the opportunity to hone your engineering skills with large-scale embedded systems, real-time programming, and object-oriented design with the support of a senior development team.
As a Systems Software Engineer you will:
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug multi-process, distributed applications software for advanced test systems
- Conduct multidisciplinary analyses in collaboration with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning and design of real-time signal processing systems
- With support from the larger team, translate user requirements into a software solution
- Jointly support forecasting of levels of efforts and timetables
Required Systems Software Engineer Qualifications:
- Due to the work you'll perform and interactions with the intelligence community and DoD programs you will need to be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment
- BS in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience or an MS degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Software development in C++11/14/17 and Python
- Experience developing on Linux platform (Ubuntu / RedHat / CentOS)
- Understanding of hardware/software integration techniques
- Familiarity with software configuration management (CM) tools and processes
Additional Systems Software Engineer Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with multithreading, socket programming, protocol buffers
- Familiarity with PCIe interface, FPGAs, and Linux device drivers
- Good written and verbal communication
- Experience working on intelligence and DoD programs
- Prior / existing security clearance
