Role: Tableau Architect

Location: Oakland, CA-Remote

Type: Full time

Job Details

Migration Experience: BO to Tableau, any Tableau Migration

Cloud Experience, Azure, Snowflake,

Database Knowledge: Netezza, SQL Server, Querying in BO.

Tableau Solution Design: Design and architect Tableau based data visualization solutions to meet business requirements and optimize user experience.

1. Data Modeling: Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement robust data models, ensuring data is structured for effective reporting and analysis.
2. Dashboard Development: Develop complex and dynamic dashboards that provide deep insights and are easy to navigate. LOD Functions.
3. Performance Optimization: Ensure Tableau solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and security, adhering to best practices.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business users to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
5. Training and Mentorship: Provide training, support, and guidance to business users and junior Tableau developers.
6. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Tableau solutions, including architecture, data flows, and design rationale.
7. Data Governance: Ensure adherence to data governance policies and collaborate with the data governance team to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
8. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tableau implementations, including performance bottlenecks and data discrepancies.

Innovation: Stay updated with the latest Tableau features and industry trends, and implement innovative solutions that add value to the business.
Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
2. 7+ years of experience in data visualization, business intelligence, or a related field.
3. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Tableau, including advanced dashboarding, data blending, and Tableau Server/Online administration.
4. Strong experience with data modeling, SQL, and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
5. Experience with ETL tools and processes.
6. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik) is a plus.
9. Certification in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

1. Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
2. Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
3. Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R.
4. Experience in leading or managing a team of BI developers.
