Tableau Lead, Lexington, MA (hybrid)
Mimecast's Business Intelligence & Analytics team is looking for a highly motivated Tableau Lead to be the central subject matter expert on all things Tableau and help us continue to build out our data and analytics strategy. You will provide best-practice expertise on all things Tableau, from simple visuals to helping analysts build complex analytical tooling that supports the Mimecast enterprise. You will help train and enable hundreds of users in our Tableau environment.
What You'll Do
- Play a central role in advancing our training, data enablement and data literacy programs across a wide variety of stakeholders and use cases.
- Contribute analytical support, data, insights and recommendations to stakeholders, with a core focus on best practices within Tableau.
- Help lead data strategy efforts in defining operational versus management reporting.
- Drive consistency in reporting and analysis across the company, reinforcing process, increasing visibility, and acting as a key point of communication between stakeholder teams.
- Strong focus on simplifying processes, identifying stakeholder teams' core KPIs and performing diagnostic analysis on our Tableau environment.
- Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses of data.
- Provide recommendations to Business Intelligence leadership on best practices and the continual improvement in business intelligence & systems landscape at Mimecast.
- Ad-hoc analysis as required to aid management decision making and business planning.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related discipline required.
- At least 5 years working extensively in Tableau development - including user, content, and data management within Tableau.
- Strong knowledge of Tableau administrative settings and Tableau Cloud functionality
- Knowledge of Tableau REST, Metadata and embedding APIs
- Experience with training teams on Tableau use, including technical calculations, visualization best practices and data model management within Tableau.
- Strong experience with and understanding a modern data stack, including cloud based data warehousing (AWS/Snowflake), ELT Tools and, of course, Tableau.
- Strong business acumen, possessing the ability to understand cross-functional trends, and how those trends impact corporate KPIs; prior experience in an operational role a plus.
- Fast learner with high attention to detail and possess a passion for data, data quality & business analytics.
