Your Role and Responsibilities

A sneak peek into this role:

As a Tactical Buyer you will play an essential role to re-valuate re-negotiate or extend contracts and suppliers to achieve optimum benefits.

Why you’ll love your job:

• Provide multi-category support assigned by the sourcing lead coming from main stakeholders

• Execute competitive bid events by identify appropriate potential suppliers to fit clients business objectives

• Analyze changing client/market conditions

• Interface with Strategic Sourcing Team to implement strategic contracts at a tactical level

• Support client specific category strategies

• Promote process efficiencies through focus on automated channels

• Track and report supplier performance resolve supplier issues

• Stakeholder relationship management

• Act in compliance with all relevant IBM business conduct guidelines and client driven procurement processes

• Optimize supply base opportunities across managed commodities

• Support periodic key stakeholder meetings with client to review commodity strategy and activities

• Interact with parallel organizations in other geos to assure consistent global approach

• Educate and advise clients and suppliers on strategies

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Fluency in English and strong communication/soft skills as this is a client facing role

• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes

• Client facing skills

• Supplier relationship management expertise

• Accurate project documentation competency
