Talent Acquisition - Recruiter
Job Description
As part of the Human Resources team; this position will provide full cycle recruiting support across multiple business units, for skilled transportation and logistics positions. The recruiter is a trusted adviser to internal business partners and candidates and is relied on to identify and engage with top talent, drive recruiting best practices and deliver an exceptional recruiting experience. You will specialize in the development and deployment of creative sourcing tactics, to locate and engage highly sought-after talent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and guidance to hiring managers, candidates and employees on talent acquisition practices, processes, and timelines.
- Work closely with hiring managers and operations to build collaborative business partnerships to understand skill-sets and competencies needed, awarded work, internal opportunities for advancement, and available technical training programs to be able to successfully recruit and secure talent.
- Recruit on various disciplines, with a primary focus on logistics and transportation for non-exempt and exempt level positions. This includes candidate sourcing, prescreening, scheduling, and administratively supporting the recruitment process.
- Manage assigned requisitions in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and adhere to recruitment ATS practices and processes. Utilize ATS for sourcing, updating, and tracking of candidate activity, to ensure compliance. Ensure requisitions are opened, posted, and closed timely.
- Generate a high-quality pipeline of candidates under very tight timelines by leveraging social media, and other available resources.
- Design innovative recruiting strategies that leverage marketing, networking, and sourcing that aligns with current or forecasted staffing needs.
- Report on changes in market trends impacting recruiting including
- Maintain frequent and professional communication with candidates and hiring managers.
- Negotiate and extend offers with selected candidates, provide insight into company benefits, career opportunities, and other competitive features that differentiate our company.
- Conduct and attend hiring events with professional associations, schools, diversity groups, and other relevant events.
- Collaborate with designated colleges, trade schools for career fairs, manage job postings, on-site interviews, and additional campus activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years Human Resources experience
- 2+ years’ recruiting experience with CDL drivers, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or operations positions highly preferred.
- Familiar with pre-employment screening processes including DOT, background and drug screening.
- Proven success creating and communicating sourcing/recruiting strategies.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and follows through on tasks.
- High-volume recruiting and on-boarding experience is a plus.
- Background in Military Recruiting is a plus.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have an eye for talent - strong ability to source and recruit talent (quality).
- Knowledge and experience of developing candidate pipelines.
- Must be detail orientated, but able to multi-task and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a strong customer service mindset; internal and external, with a focus on timely responsiveness.
- Must have ability to participate in weekly meetings, providing updates on recruitment progress and activity.
- Highly organized and efficient, ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:
- This position is eligible for one remote workday after probationary period.
- The office work environment is inside and protected from weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- Overtime may be required during the week and weekend with work volume.
- Ability to travel when required, locally, up to 10% of the time.
