About the opportunity:
Mathematica is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist and/or Senior Specialist to join our growing team. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play an important role in Mathematica's success by attracting a diverse group of top talent, providing an engaging recruitment experience for candidates, and advancing organizational effectiveness through best practice-driven full-lifecycle recruitment.
Although the Talent Acquisition Specialist can expect to work across all research areas, business units, and departments, this Specialist will focus most of their time on identifying and attracting talent in our Health business unit and our corporate functions including Finance, Project Management, Legal, and Human Resources. Therefore, we are particularly interested in candidates who have experience leading full-lifecycle recruitment in health policy or healthcare research, health-focused academic institutions, or other health-related fields; as well as candidates who have interest and experience in identifying talent for corporate functions.
The focus and main objective of the Talent Acquisition Specialist/Senior Specialist will be to source, interview and hire professionals from a diverse and competitive candidate pool.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist/Senior Specialist will:
- Work on the complete end-to-end recruitment process with Hiring Managers, HR Centers of Excellence, and other stakeholders
- Communicate closely with hiring managers in Mathematica's Corporate Administration and Health research/consulting areas, as well as in Human Services and/or International Research areas as needed
- Manage between 18-25 active requisitions
- In a collegial manner, develop and promote ideas for process improvements for more equitable, streamlined, and scalable Talent Acquisition practices
- Provide timely/regular reports to Hiring Managers and Talent Acquisition leadership on talent pipeline and DEI metrics
- Work closely with the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition to ensure consistent, equitable, and efficient talent acquisition practices
- Operate with discretion, trust, and integrity in a complex, high-profile, and rapidly changing environment
- Perform in depth sourcing of passive candidates by using creative forms of online search (Boolean, social networking, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Maintain accountability for a positive candidate experience by ensuring that sourcing, recruiting, offer, on-boarding, and communication processes run smoothly and in an equitable manner
- Work with Compensation team and unit leadership to develop offer packages; extend offers to candidates
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered
- Specialist: 4+ years of full life-cycle recruiting experience
- Senior Specialist: 7+ years of full life-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in Health-centric environments such as health policy, healthcare research, clinical/health care environments, and/or health-focused academic institutions. (Strong understanding of health care, health research, or related fields would be a plus.)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent relationship-building and relationship-management skills, including consistent, clear, and timely communication with hiring managers and candidates
- Appreciation for, and deep understanding of, the connection between equitable Talent Acquisition practices and developing a diverse candidate pool
- A strong understanding of employment laws and OFCCP compliance
- Proactive problem solver who is constantly learning
- Working knowledge of corporate recruiting for a government contractor
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter sourcing techniques
- Experience working for a consulting or professional services firm
- Experience maintaining compliant and up-to-date records in an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Experience working well with regionally dispersed teams, as well as the ability to work independently
- Ability to easily shift recruitment direction and priorities based on the ever-changing critical business needs

The Specialist designation offers an anticipated base salary of $70,000 - $90,000 annually
The Senior Specialist designation offers an anticipated base salary of $85,000 - $105,000 annually This is a remote position with the opportunity to work in a hybrid status from any of our offices listed below.
Available locations: Washington, DC; Princeton, NJ; Chicago, IL; Remote, US
Although Mathematica does not require vaccination from COVID-19 as a condition of employment, various projects or agencies may require documentation of vaccination (or an approved exception/accommodation)
Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance.
