Talent Data Analytics Manager Summary:
The Talent Data Analytics Manager is responsible for developing and delivering a sound operational data strategy. This role will focus on continuously building out, enhancing & maintaining an operational data store for talent data. They will be adept in BI tool sets and building complex analytics, so understand the underlying data needs. They will be responsible for creating data strategies that synthesize, clean, and transform data for use in analytics and various BI toolsets. This role will be responsible for solution scoping, design, and development in support of analytic needs. With assistance from the Talent Analytics Director this role will set data governance and security strategies for talent data and technologies. This role will work with the data analytics centers of excellence at RSM to create, manage and implement advanced analytics as well as manage the processes and people responsible for accurate data collections, processing, modeling, and analysis.
Essential Duties:
Talent Data Management: 40%
- Helps to shape a vision for data strategy and designs data management practices that guide and prepare data used for all aspects of talent analytics
- Designs and develops data architecture to support talent analytics functions
- Develops and implements data retention and maintenance strategies
- Continuously improves data structures and applications
- Integrates data from multiple data sources, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed. Understands the data source structures and business relevance of the data
- Ensures creation and maintenance of technical specifications-data mapping, data flows
- Serves on the Talent technology roadmap team to drive strategy including reviewing current and future technologies
- Lead and implement Modern Data Platform by leading and designing Azure data platform in partnership with IT to ensure that the architectural structure is secured, efficient and easily reportable.
- Be a strategic design thinker using design thinking principals. Help take RSM to the next level in technology by representing RSM by being a Talent Analytics design partner influencing the implementation and testing Workday to ODS design.
- Work directly with senior leadership to deliver data and dashboards allow CLT to make business driven decisions.
- Providing an accountable and flexible project management approach that ensures the key issues of cost, time, scope and above all, client satisfaction, can be realized.
- Help team members in decision making to ensure best practices are being implemented.
Talent Data Governance: 20%
- Partners across the talent team to develop governance of all talent data and systems
- Develop and implement quality controls and standards to ensure quality of data
- Assists in HR information systems (HRIS) design and development to ensure accurate data can be captured and used for insightful analytics
- Create and maintain a data governance methodology to standardize metric definitions, create naming conventions and educate end users in data literacy.
- Develop automated, sustainable routines for extracting information from various data sources
- Proactively manage data gaps/accuracy, while ensuring the integrity of analysis through rigorous attention to detail and validation
- Follow controls and processes within the business to ensure adherence to relevant risk management, legal and compliance expectations, and requirements.
Business Insights and Data Visualization: 20%
- Create user-friendly deliverables (reports, dashboards, presentations, etc.) in Workday that translate detailed data, analysis, and insights into business-appropriate communication and recommendations
- Designs, develops, tests, and deploys reporting and dashboard solutions that consolidate and analyze diverse data objects and include data visualizations where appropriate
- Manipulate and manage large data sets to provide information and evidence that will help the business make decisions by providing insights and recommendations. Identify and raise awareness around dependencies; and incorporate design thinking, business needs, and resource capabilities into process recommendations.
Enterprise Data Collaboration: 10%
- Partners with IT and ICS teams to ensure alignment on data strategies of the Talent team and ensures the team's data strategies and process align with firm goals & roadmap
- Collaborate across ICS teams to contribute to data strategy in modern data platforms that serve modern data initiatives including cloud data strategy and AI with predictive analytics
Supervisory duties including but not limited to: 10%
- Providing work direction for team members
- Coaching to develop team members
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar from an accredited college/university (Required)
- Technology certifications or designations (Preferred)
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS:
- Proven skills in multiple architectural domains and various technologies (Required)
- Strong understanding of systems design, cloud, and databases
- Sound analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability and judgment (Required)
- Experience using data cleaning tools such as Alteryx
- Experience in SQL/NoSQL or other DB query language as well as DB design and development (Required)
- Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Tableau, PowerBI or similar (Required)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical topics to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong relationship skills and aptitude to influence (Required)
- Innovative problem solving and critical thinking (Required)
- Technical project or product management (Preferred)
- Understand how to navigate/mine multiple data environments necessary to perform complex analyses
- Business mindset with strong problem solving and analytical skills (Required)
- Knowledge and understanding of databases and data mining techniques (Required)

- Have progressively more advanced experience in research and data analysis, application of statistical research techniques, or application development. (Preferred)
- Have a proven ability to capture information systematically; consider a broad range of issues and factors; grasp complexities and perceive relationships among problems or issues; and use accurate logic in analysis. (Preferred)
- Take the initiative to independently craft and develop their own deliverables without relying solely on partner requests, generating new ideas and going beyond the status quo. (Preferred)
- Be responsive to changing business needs, manage and prioritize concurrent assignments, and handle ambiguity with ease. (Required)
- Strong customer orientation and a consistent record of hitting deadlines. (Required)
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years demonstrated experience with Talent Date (Required),
- Design, redesign, and migration of medium to large data programs (Preferred)
- Experience pulling and aggregating data from multiple sources (Required)
- Have held a data analyst or similar role on an HR team, with a demonstrated understanding of standard HR metrics and objectives (Talent Acquisition reporting experience preferred)
- Consulting experience with senior leaders and CLT (Required)
