Our HR department is expanding as a result of continued growth across the company, and we are excited to add this new Talent Operations/HR Associate role to our team. Based out of our Madison headquarters location, this is a perfect role for someone looking to jump-start their HR career upon their upcoming graduation and join a company and team that will allow them to gain exposure into all areas of a dynamic, supportive, and people-focused HR department.

LOCATION: Madison, WI Headquarters location, with flexibility to work up to 2-days per week virtually

START DATE: Ideal candidate would have the ability to start part-time before the end of the semester to train and be prepared for a full-time start upon graduation (and to support an upcoming leave on the team)

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Talent Operations/HR Associate will serve as an impactful member of the Company's centralized Human Resources team, supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of the department through a focus on key areas, to include: new hire onboarding, HRIS/payroll maintenance, total rewards, and corporate culture and employee experience. With an emphasis on providing an exceptional employee experience, and in close collaboration with other members of the HR team, the Talent Operations/HR Associate will be responsible for supporting, executing, and taking ownership of a broad range of tasks and projects gaining exposure and insight into the full employment lifecycle within the Company. The Talent Operations/HR Associate will interact with and build strong partnerships with new hires, employees, and leaders at all levels across the organization.

CORE OBJECTIVES AND RELATED TASKS

  1. New Hire Onboarding (40%)
    1. Support the new hire onboarding experience for all new employees by being responsible for a variety of tasks within the following areas: new hire and manager communications, new hire gifts and onboarding materials, onboarding meeting coordination and scheduling, and monitoring and following up with new employees to ensure task completion
    2. Serve as the primary point of contact for all new hires during the pre-boarding stage and ensuring comprehensive details are shared in preparation for their first day
    3. Manage the Company PEER (mentorship) program
    4. Serve as a back-up and be the lead presenter for new hire orientation, as needed
  1. HRIS & Payroll Maintenance (30%)
    1. Responsible for HRIS/Payroll maintenance to include adding new hires, removing terminated employees, processing job and manager changes, updating deductions, timecard review and follow up, etc.
    2. Provide support in managing corporate credit card administration for employees, such as checking limits, increasing limits, processing new hire requests, etc.
    3. Generate reports through the HRIS on employee data as identified on a routine, and as-requested, basis
  2. Total Rewards (15%)
    1. Generate monthly and quarterly benefits and compensation reports via the HRIS (Finance, 401K, EBC, etc.)
    2. Create and send total rewards information to new hires following onboarding, such as benefits packets, monthly new hire bonus letters, etc. and ensure completion of necessary information (i.e. benefits enrollment, etc.)
  3. Corporate Culture & Employee Experience (10%)
    1. Assist with coordination, planning, and execution of various employee events, activities, and social functions, primarily at the Madison headquarters location but to include all-company activities as needed
    2. Serve as a leader and/or key member of committees that support the company culture (Fun, Wellness, etc.)
  4. General Human Resource Support (5%)
    1. Provide general Human Resources support with interpretation of policies and procedures, compensation and benefits, payroll, training and development, and employee relations; and stay abreast of regulatory changes that may affect current policies and practices to ensure compliance

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed post-secondary degree, with a focus on Human Resources
  • Previous work experience within a professional services industry, related to Human Resources a plus
  • Strong technology skills and ability to pick up on new systems and applications quickly
  • Demonstrated success in being resourceful and a proven problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to build relationships, across all levels within the organization as well as with external individuals
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of overall Human Resources functions (preferred)
  • Ability to handle pressure in meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently using professional judgment
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner
  • Strong desire to work as a team and work towards the overall goals of the department and organization
