Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Talent Specialist manages new and existing programs and projects for the Talent team and responsible for the development of innovative programs and processes to help support and drive solutions in support of AEL employees. This role drives talent and HR programs goals and provide project management support, including defining project plans, managing implementation activities and developing protocols.
This position will sit onsite in Des Moines, IA or New York
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees and tracks all activities related to on-boarding/off-boarding.
- Establishes and maintains proper governance across Talent/HR platforms ensuring completion of all on-boarding, off-boarding, and other mandatory activities (ie: performance management cycle, reporting).
- Engages with a broad set of stakeholders to ensure the programs and processes are aligned to the organization's priorities and goals.
- Organizes, plans, and manages talent development events such as culture onboarding training and similar.
- Accountable for sending new-hire swag, maintaining inventory levels, and ordering supplies.
- Oversees and tracks all mandatory trainings within Learning Management System (LMS) ensuring and providing reports of completion.
- Acts as a project manager executing on talent development agenda, including maintaining vendor records, invoices, schedules, and feedback.
- Prepares and distributes training material, handouts, evaluation forms/surveys and post training follow-ups.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality working with new hire and employee information
- Participates and, at times, lead special projects.
- Performs other related work as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent experience, plus two (2) years of Human Resources support or project related experience preferred.
