Tax Accountant
Job Description
The Role Â
As a Tax Accountant at GTI, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of income and operational tax functions on our Finance team. This role will support the critical compliance aspects for the organization within the Corporate Accounting team. Â
Responsibilities Â
- Supports the income tax provision process including current and deferred tax calculations and supporting workpapersÂ
- Supports the company’s strategy for 280E by ensuring proper documentation being in place and stored appropriately Â
- Participates in tax planning strategies including transfer pricing studies Â
- Prepares miscellaneous compliance duties, such as sales and use tax filings, personal property taxes, and other compliance projects, as requiredÂ
- Supports the quarterly and annual audit process including documenting support for positions taken adhering to ASC740Â
- Supports mergers and acquisition related activity as neededÂ
- Coordinates all income and operational tax filings and other compliance projects, as requiredÂ
- Prepares supporting schedules for financial statements and quarterly and annual regulatory filings using applicable systemsÂ
- Performs period-end financial close responsibilitiesÂ
- Prepares any adjusting entries necessary resulting from reconciliationsÂ
- Supports internal customers by researching questions and investigating variances on the financial statementsÂ
- Maintains standard operating procedures including month-beginning and month-end checklistsÂ
- Maintains a proper system of effective internal controlsÂ
- Effectively communicates and collaborates within the Accounting team and cross functionally to ensure proper workflow and adherence to standard operating policies and proceduresÂ
- Supports Local, State, and Federal tax agency auditsÂ

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 1+ years of related experience
- CPA preferredÂ
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulnessÂ
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environmentÂ
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externallyÂ
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking and attention to detail and accuracyÂ
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential informationÂ

- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry Â
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of ageÂ
