Tax Manager

The Denver ATLAS location seeks a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager to join our team!  The ideal candidate will combine tax expertise, advisory skills, and a passion for fostering client relationships. This is an exciting opportunity to join a family of firms across multiple states with a lot of room for advancement.

OBJECTIVE/FUNCTION:

The Tax Manager will work under the supervision of a Partner and/or Director. A Manager will support the firm’s clients in the duties listed below and provide support and leadership to their staff. Some duties listed below are subject to the department the Manager primarily manages.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Assist and lead client projects, handling client calls promptly and nurturing strong relationships.
• Collaborate on tax projects, ensuring smooth workflow and assisting with office projects as needed.
• Efficiently prepare and review various tax returns  (i.e., 1040, 1120, 1065, etc.), maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
• Provide comprehensive tax and estate planning knowledge, identifying and communicating additional client needs.
• Contribute actively to advisory services efforts and the Firm initiatives.
• Participate in billing and WIP analysis, maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Train and develop team members, identifying areas for process improvement to optimize operations.
• Travel occasionally on short notice for client meetings and engagements, utilizing a personal vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility and commitment during increased operational hours required during tax season. 
• Fulfill any other assigned tasks to support the Firm objectives.

• Proven track record of successfully managing client relationships and driving business growth.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong client service skills - Actively listen and demonstrate a service mentality.
• Effectively lead and cultivate a positive team environment while managing other's assignments.
• Regularly use QuickBooks Online and Desktop with proficiency.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of Tax Basis Accounting – Cash & Accrual.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
• A CPA license is highly desirable.
• 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in tax planning, compliance, and advisory services within a CPA firm or similar environment.
