Job Summary:Â
Ruggable needs a motivated Tax Manager to help a small but mighty tax team scale as the company expands. The position will help build and produce relevant tax reports and facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders including other accounting teams, outside tax/audit firms, our logistic providers and global tax agencies. This role will touch all areas of the tax function and will have ample career growth opportunities.Â
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (sales and use tax, VAT, GST, HST, PST), state and federal tax estimate calculations, and property tax reports
- Pay annual, quarterly, and monthly tax liabilities
- Register for new accounts with various state and local governments as needed
- Perform monthly reconciliation between government and company records
- Prepare analysis and related adjusting journal entries related to tax accounting
- Maintain an accurate database of tax records and make adjusting entries to tax accounts when necessary
- Liaise with state tax advisors and state agencies/authorities
- Create additional documentation as needed, including internal tax payment forecasting reports
- Collaborate with team members to communicate tax information to other departments, company investors and external service providers
- Stay updated on industry developments
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned by the Senior Tax Manager
 What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- Exemplary tax, accounting, and bookkeeping skills
- In-depth knowledge of US state, federal, and other countries’ tax codes, laws, and regulations
- Partnership tax experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage time effectively, and solve problems
Preferred:
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation, finance, or accounting
- Experience in accounting related software - Microsoft Excel is a must
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CPA for the U.S.)
Compensation:
- $110,000-$120,000 per year
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
