About the Team
As a key member of the Tax Operations team, the Tax Solutions Senior Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the day to day success of the tax department.
The Tax Solutions Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the data, reporting, project management, and tax technology needs of Zoom's tax team and its cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate is a team player that has a foundational understanding of tax concepts and requirements, is a self-starter with a keen sense of curiosity, and has a strong desire to support their customers with unique and creative solutions to complex challenges on the cutting edge of worldwide tax developments.
About the Role
The Tax Solutions Senior Analyst will:

• Be a self-starter and is self-motivated, able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and perform multiple tasks under the supervision of the Tax Solutions Manager.
• Partner with Tax stakeholders to identify and assess automation and improvement opportunities, define requirements and scope, and execute the solution while adhering to committed timelines and providing regular status updates.
• Leverage their innate sense of curiosity to delve into complex Tax matters, develop a deep understanding of the issues, and create best in class solutions for them.
• Support cross-functional projects on behalf of Tax, including go to market initiatives, product launches, and enterprise systems implementations and enhancements.
• Support the design, development, and use of a unified Tax data platform.
• Partner with technical data and engineering teams to identify, ingest, validate, and transform data from new sources for use in Tax reporting.
• Review, develop, and enhance Tax processes, policies, and procedures related to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), data privacy rules and regulations.
• Create data visualizations to monitor trends and provide analytical support to Zoom's Tax subject matter experts.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role in a corporate tax team or in a global consulting firm with an emphasis on tax technology solutions/tax transformation projects.
• 1+ year(s) experience with SQL in a finance, accounting, or tax capacity is required. Experience with Python or similar programming languages is a plus.
• 1+ year(s) experience with one or more of the following subject areas: general corporate tax, US Federal Tax, International Income Tax, State Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, e-invoicing compliance, Indirect Tax, Financial Reporting, and/or Tax Controversy.
• Experience working with data collected from a variety of sources including Excel, flat files, databases, and APIs is preferred.
• Ability to work cross functionally with tax partners, data scientists, legal advisors, engineering teams, and functional/technical architects.
• Strong skills and experience with MS Excel and data analytic/visualization tools like Alteryx/Tableau.
• Experience building solutions that are subject to SOX controls, including interfacing with internal/external auditors, and data privacy laws preferred.
• Experience with interpreting and extracting large volumes of tax and/or transaction data from enterprise systems (Zuora, Avalara, Vertex, Fonoa, Oracle, Netsuite, Snowflake, etc) is a plus.
• Self-starter with good judgment and strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and produce a high quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of detail-orientation with an eye for accuracy is an absolute must.
• Continuous improvement mindset to bring best practices and efficiencies to repeatable processes.
