Marcum LLP is seeking a Generalist Tax Staff to join our growing and well established national firm in our New York City office. This position requires a high energy, experienced professional with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
• Contains moderate technical knowledge of accounting standards and reporting standards in researching and understanding technical areas.
• Addresses questions on technical accounting matters from team members and upper level client management
• Has moderate to intermediate level tax preparation skills
• Performs a detailed review of their workflow and monitors tasks to ensure they are completed on a timely basis
• Manages multiple assignments inside an engagement
• Communicates with Partner, Manager and/or Supervising Senior on work status and client issues that arise
• Has moderate knowledge of applicable accounting software (e.g. Axcess Tax, Engagement, SurePrep, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a preferred field of study in Accounting
• CPA eligible
• 1-2 years’ of relevant work and industry experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, but also work well with others

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license or on track to obtain
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
• Software Experience - CCH Axcess Tax, Microsoft Office 365

Compensation Range

Salary: $71,000.00 - $85,000.00
