Job Title:Teacher - Private Reading and Dyslexia Center Location:Grapevine, TX 76051 Company:I Heart Learning Academy Salary:$20 per hour Job Type:Independent Contractor; part-time About I Heart Learning: I Heart Learning is a private reading and dyslexia center that provides one-on-one customized reading and writing instruction for students of all abilities. We provide reading therapy to students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, or other learning disabilities. We have an impeccable reputation for offering the BEST instruction that is truly prescriptive and effective. I Heart Learning teachers are provided FREE, ongoing training in the Science of Reading/Structured Literacy and are provided all of the materials, a fully annotated curriculum, and freedom to do exactly what our kids need and truly make a difference in a child’s life. Upon 1-2 years of experience and training at I Heart Learning, you will be prepared to take the KPEERI exam and apply to become certified as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction with the Alternate Route. We provide an opportunity for teachers to expand their professional knowledge and gain experience in effective reading instruction while enjoying all of the amenities and the warm and inviting work environment our center has to offer. Job Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one reading and writing instruction tailored to the individual needs of each student. • Engage and motivate students, including reluctant learners, in a warm and inviting environment. • Participate in ongoing, free training in the Science of Reading/Structured Literacy. • Create custom lesson plans to address each student’s individualized needs with a fully annotated curriculum to deliver effective instruction. • Maintain excellent communication skills and efficiency with technology including Google Drive, Google Docs, and online teaching tools (e.g., Zoom). Qualifications: • Bachelor’s/Graduate degree and/or teaching credential is a plus, but not required. • Experience teaching or tutoring children is preferred. • Motivated, innovative teachers who love to learn and grow their knowledge in the science of teaching reading. • Creative, loving individuals with a passion for teaching and an ability to connect with hard to reach students. • Ability to commute reliably or plan to relocate to Grapevine, TX 76051 before starting work. Position Details: • Consistent hours with a customized schedule of 6-12 hours per week to start. • Schedule:You set your own availability from Monday through Saturday. Teachers MUST be available a minimum of 2 days per week between the hours of 3:30-6:30. • Onsite position only;virtual teaching positions are not currently available. • Competitive pay starts at $20 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases based on training completion and experience. • Opportunities for advancement. • 20+ hours of training in the Science of Reading provided are required before working with students.
