Your role as a Team Lead at GPP

As a team lead you are first and foremost a leader for your team, you set the example and the direction. When required you are the first one to take the step in the right direction and help guide your team with courage and commitment, navigating the journey to their success. You embrace a career path orientated towards people and management.

You care for your team, prioritize investing in them and value building relationships. You realize that you cannot do everything and that "command and control" management doesn't support scale. Your role is to empower others to do the best they can, mentoring your team members and supporting their progression and advancement.

Team leads engage with a wide diverse variety of team members, departments, and stakeholders and know the importance of communication and collaboration. You are able to challenge directly while communicating with care. You value giving feedback as well as receiving it with the main goal of creating a remarkable team and delivering exceptional value, mentoring pro-actively in the moment.

You are responsible for assisting your team to succeed, ensuring that they deliver on their commitments and continuously working iteratively towards improvement. You understand agility and you know how to support the processes that allow the team to respond to change. You are often an agent of change yourself, driving the change for those things that no longer serve the team or embracing opportunities that can take the team even further.

You are still a technical expert who keeps your hands on their technical domain and when appropriate will take on work that aligns with your expertise. You still keep up-to-date with the latest developments and work with our tech leads and architects to ensure we do things properly and deliver excellence in what we do.

Be a pioneer, help drive our innovation and chart our course with iterative improvement. Proactively assess our current frameworks, strategies, and plans. Drive innovation and experimentation, identifying areas for improvement or new yet unexplored opportunities.

Leadership experience and a passion for people, management, reporting and scalability of the team with ambitions to work towards becoming a software development manager.

Experience with team management, performance assessments, performance improvement, and mentoring/coaching practices.

Experience with driving knowledge sharing and knowledge base building, supporting the growth of understanding in the organization.

Deep technical experience depending on the domain.

Your Skills
