What you will achieve

The position is a Team Lead Software Engineering role for the Customer Touchpoints APIs and Storefront (CTAS) organization focusing on Digital Connect (DC) Products. The work offers an opportunity to lead DFW-based software development teams for an evolving E-Commerce suite of Products that power the world's leading airlines and agencies. This role requires Project and Release Management experience to drive development and delivery based on decisions aligned to company strategic goals and priorities, implement best practices to create a value proposition, cost-effective product, and delivery. The individual will implement a strategy for realizing organization objectives by ensuring high-quality development production of business needs, consistent best practices, and alignment to organizational and industry standards. This requires the management and development of fault-tolerant, well-instrumented, and compliant systems in highly transactional global distributed cloud environments.

Technical Prowess

Experience in effectively managing the day-to-day activities of the Development Teams:
• Expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot strategy• SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and cloud migration• SOAP, REST, RESTful, JSON-RPC, JMS, SOA/EDA, and Microservices Architecture, client-server and distributed systems .• Knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL, and OOAD• Exposure to Design Patterns, Software Architecture best practices, Agile SDLC, build & deployment tools, and CI / CD practices.• CI/CD deployment pipelines in Datacenters, AWS, GCP • MVC, Spring IOC, SOA, and other similar design patterns/ understand API-First design and microservices architecture design paradigms• Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices

Accountabilities
• 10+ years in SDLC, with experience in design, solutioning, development, and quality. Proven leadership ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously• Extensive experience in the development of Microservices based on RESTFUL Services• Expertise in development of modern responsive web app development based on Microservices, Cloud Native technologies• Designs and codes applications using advanced technology• Evaluate and propose ideas to improve the system's performance, maintainability, operability, or reliability• Analyze, diagnose, and identify solutions to system problems. Participate in architectural reviews. Determine design methodologies and complete programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests• Controls quality of coding and implementation• Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools• Mentor team members in technical areas such as best coding practices, code reviews, security practices, and automation

Additional tasks include:
• Able to execute and deliver initiatives toward increasing productivity, system performance, standardization, best practices, and maximizing product quality• Possesses significant knowledge of Java client/server systems architectures• Understanding of TDD practices and experience with Unit Testing and mocking tools• Experience in leading small teams and responsible for technical design, code review, NFR & on-time delivery of modules • Agile/Scrum experience• Solid communication skills - written and verbal

Nice to have skills:
• Experience in the Airline domain is a plus.

Education:
• Bachelor's / Master's degree or equivalent
