THE ROLE

In this role, you will be very engaged in the distribution process with a dedicated focus on ensuring royalty payments are correct and aligned with correct match information.  This role includes leading the work of others in the team, giving feedback, creating process improvement and performance improvement. Your role will be critical to support Rights Management and collaborate extensively with Data Analytics & Automation, Customer Experience and Finance.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • One-year experience in music publishing administration, copyright or in a related field
  • Royalty distribution experience strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical/excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible with changing demands

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

YOU WILL LEAD CRITICAL WORK PROCESSES AND OTHER ON THE TEAM BY:

  • Coordinate and manage the process for handling royalty payee accounts placed on hold.
  • Researching questions from publishers about matches
  • Overseeing work of those who match works; providing feedback and coaching performance
  • Tracking service-levels to publishers using operational KPIs 
  • Triaging publisher service issues with The MLC and/or vendors; specializing in addressing issues for unmatched usage claiming, royalty payments and statements 

YOU WILL SUPPORT RIGHTS MANAGEMENT BY:

  • Conducting outreach and communications with Members of The MLC, tracking situations and feedback from Publishers
  • Researching, reviewing, and resolving copyright and royalty issues related to musical works
  • As needed, matching sound recording usage reported by licensees to musical works
  • Interfacing with other departments and MLC vendors to assist with identification and location of copyright owners of musical shares
  • Analyzing and creating reports as needed
  • Developing standard work processes and monitoring adherence for process and outcome quality
