Team Lead, Senior Consultant: Financial Services Operations
Job Description
The Opportunity:
As a Team Lead, Senior Consultant, you will engage in a player/coach role and perform day-to-day front-line supervisory oversight responsibilities for an Investment Operations Functional offshore team. You will serve as a point of escalation, maintain, and monitor issues logs while working to resolve client servicing issues in a timely manner. This role is focused on managing others and applying operational and strategic management skills. Responsibilities and decisions likely include performance reviews, pay decisions and coaching/development for 3-4 partners.
The Team:
Current partners on this team have a combined financial industry knowledge and experience of 20+ years. The team is currently undergoing a change in roles and responsibilities as we continue to migrate day to day onboarding responsibilities overseas. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for helping delegate and prioritize oversight and process improvement initiatives.
The Impact:
- Recruit, train, mentor and develop employees
- Ensure appropriate operational controls in order to manage and mitigate risk to Northern Trust.
- Responsible for the delivery and continuous enhancement of IOO middle office operations and client services.
- Contribute and participate in scheduling and conducting Quarterly Service Reviews, Due Diligence meetings, and other Client meetings as required
- Responsible for understanding the client's business and needs/deliverables
- Responsible for obtaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of IOO products and services and how they are manufactured and delivered.
- Facilitate the Global Services Engagement model, responsible for coordinating global service delivery across NT servicing teams and regions
- Uses judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
The Minimum Qualifications:
- Completed Bach Degree
- This is a Hybrid role: Must have the ability to report to our Chicago. IL or Boston, Mass office twice per week. (Tuesday is mandatory and the second day is flexible)
- 3+ years of direct report leadership experience either coordinating resources and/or setting daily priorities to meet operational objectives
- 3+years Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management and/or middle office Investment Operations experience
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change
- Proven ability to work with a sense of urgency while being detail oriented
The Ideal Qualifications:
- Completed Bach Degree with a focus in Finance
- 5+ years of direct report leadership experience either coordinating resources and/or setting daily priorities to meet operational objectives
- 5+years Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management and/or middle office Investment Operations experience
- Previous client management and client service experience in a service-oriented environment
- Extensive knowledge of financial services, asset management and/or investment operations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project Management certification (Six Sigma / Agile training)
