Position: Team Lead, Structures & Pricing
Location: Houston, Texas
Schedule: Hybrid - Monday, Wednesday and Friday onsite.

We are looking for a Team Lead, Structures & Pricing, to report to the Manager of Structures and Pricing in the AES Clean Energy commercial business. The role will support the Structures & Pricing platform at the business unit and individual staff level, develop and refine deal models and transaction valuations to the business unit, and partner with other commercial functions in Structured Origination, Term Trading, Structured Trading and Risk Management. This role is with the commercial business located in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities
- Support AES Clean Energy deal pipeline with construction of revenue curves.
- Coordinate with Business Development, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Origination teams to ensure asset revenues and Power Purchase Agreements are adequately reflected within the investment due diligence process.
- Lead in some cases and support Structured Origination team in timely and accurate valuation of proposed renewable power transactions and their customized aspects.
- Deliver improvements and automation for existing structured renewable power models to shorten turnaround times and apply learnings holistically to the business infrastructure.
- Develop new structured renewable power models as needed and implied by the deal pipeline.
- Work with Term Trading and Structured Trading to ensure structured deal valuation alignment with AES Clean Energy power market view.
- Lead in some cases and work with ETRM and Risk Management teams through the deal booking process and the associated risk approvals.
- Develop a deep understanding of commercial impacts affecting AES CE business, grow their own skills, contribute to building the wider team, and progress along the career path.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Math, Physics, Data Science, Business Analytics or similar. Master's Degree in those areas preferred.
- 5 years of relevant work experience in the energy industry in related functions such as trading, portfolio management, asset management, investment advisory, quantitative analytics, risk analytics and similar.
- Extensive experience with US power markets (PJM, CAISO preferred; other markets helpful).
- Previous 2 years of experience in pricing bilateral power contracts with intermittent volume
- Previous experience building production level models for power market preferred.
- Deep experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, C/C++, VBA).
- Knowledge of revenue streams associated with renewable assets and their valuation.
- Familiarity with operating aspects of renewable assets.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, communication skills and attention to detail.
