As a Supervisor of Development Test, you will be the leader of a new product development test team, responsible for test of hardware and firmware in embedded Safety, Sensing, & Industrial Components.
This role reports to the Manager of the Development Test Engineering Team and is located in Chelmsford, MA.
What you will do
- Provide functional and process leadership to the test team.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Software engineering peers to ensure the development and test of products that meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
Skills you have
- Experienced in various test engineering areas of focus including functional verification test, system validation test, traceability to requirements, and the processes governing these areas.
- Able to lead a team to set goals and objectives, determine project resource allocation, provide process improvement, evaluate performance, establish career development, and provide technical guidance.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, neither now nor in the future, for this job opening.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, including international destinations.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering Management.
- Typically requires a minimum of Two years of technical project leadership, project management, and/or engineering management experience.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of hardware or firmware development and/or test experience, and at least five years of test experience, with demonstrated professional development in validation and verification testing. Testing disciplines include electrical (EMC, functional, etc.), mechanical (shock, vibration, environmental, etc.), and firmware.
- Ability to lead a team to set goals and objectives, determine project resource allocation, provide process improvement, evaluate performance, establish career development, and provide technical guidance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple project activities while keeping projects on schedule.
- Experience in the creation of test plans and test cases (procedures/specifications) to validate product compliance with the specified requirements.
- Experience with requirement, test, and anomaly management tools such as Jama, qTest, and Jira.
- Familiarity with the Change Control Board or triage process for test anomaly review.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methods.
- Experience in the creation and/or specification of test automation equipment, platforms, routines, and/or environments to support validation and verification tests.
- Experience with the application of IEC/EN 60947 and/or other relevant industry standards, and/or experience as a participant in the development of industry standards for industrial control products.
- Knowledge of Functional Safety standards and methods to achieve ratings and certifications.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products (including Logix controllers and software tools) and/or other industrial control equipment.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and with people at all levels.
