illumifin is seeking a Lead Java Developer to perform systems analysis, code development and on-going support for an insurance administration system. This position requires the candidate to workon multiple platforms and work with a variety of open source packages. They must be able to work effectively across teams and possess exceptional communication skills. They must also be able to provide consulting expert assistance for less-experienced members of the team. They must be able to think creatively and provide innovative designs and solutions to problems. The candidate will be responsible for design, coding, unit testing, preparing design documentation, and ensuring entire projects are production ready from a technical perspective.

Required

• Minimum 2 Year College Degree or work experience
• Minimum of 6 years' Java coding experience
• Minimum of 3 years' experience with Eclipse
• Minimum of 5 years' solution design experience
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong critical thinking skills
• English: Fluent
• Ability to transform non-technical business requirements into technical requirements
• Ability to participate in code reviews to ensure quality deliverables
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to work in an on-call rotation
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with internal and external clients
• Generally working US based hours

Preferred

• JSF, Spring, Hibernate
• Bitbucket, Sourcetree, Jira, SoapUI
• Exposure to any Unit test framework like Junit and Mocking frameworks like Mockito
• Experience in SQL and database programming

• Familiarity with mainstream application servers like Websphere and Apache Tomcat
• Working knowledge of CI/Build tools like Maven and Ant
• Working knowledge of Test Driven development
