Tech Lead NodeJS Engineer

SUMMARY:

As a Tech Lead NodeJS engineer, you need to have a strong background in Node.js and React to drive the development of the front-end ecosystem for a global online sports betting platform. This role involves close collaboration with product owners to shape the future of our platform. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with a passion for learning, possesses excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, and pays meticulous attention to detail.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

You will join our engineering team and be a valued member working closely in a collaborative, autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help with the following:

• Collaborate with key business stakeholders to identify and solve critical problems.
• Design and implement innovative features and solutions to enhance our platform.
• Lead and mentor a cross-functional, remote development team.
• Analyse existing programs to diagnose performance issues and troubleshoot effectively.
• Break down system requirements into actionable tasks and prioritise them efficiently.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
• Communicate effectively with non-technical staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Write and improve documentation for company products and tools.
• Maintain the products and assist in resolving production incidents.
• Support customer service by addressing inquiries and providing solutions.
• Be available for on-call support as needed to ensure system reliability.
• Revamping the product to improve user experience significantly.
• Integrating with next-generation payment backend systems.
• Adding new payment methods and providers, expediting integration through automation and configuration enhancements.
• Developing self-service tools for users to complete transactions and resolve issues independently.
• Providing tools for Customer Support to handle transaction follow-ups efficiently.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any related technical field
• Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Proactive problem-solving attitude with exceptional troubleshooting skills.
• Project management experience and familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Proficiency in the following technologies: Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Git, Linux, RESTful APIs, Docker and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

AWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Varnish or HTTP accelerators, in general
• Experience with Redis.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
