Finalsite will transform the way school communities engage with their schools. SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Tech Leader works collaboratively with a team of product managers designers software engineers and quality assurance analysts to build enhance and maintain our comprehensive web-based software solutions using pre-defined programming languages.

The Tech Leader is seen as the subject matter expert in a significant area of the codebase and exhibits leadership and influence beyond themselves (e.g. leadership for a large group exceptionally strong individual contribution). Given a nebulous project a Tech Leader will appropriately scope find a solution and implement it owning the technical testing and performance planning for drama-free launches.

The Tech Leader has a bigger impact beyond themselves and their immediate projects and will have a major role in the team's decision-making process. They will also contribute widely to making others better via code review mentoring and training.

100% Remote - Anywhere within the US

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the whole team sprint and quarterly team delivery and is the best partner of the Product Manager and dedicated SRE.

• Routinely and consistently pushes the team forward.

• Exhibits ownership for all services/components owned by the team.

• Actively leads and coordinates the team discussions drawing from a mastery of the product set to devise solutions to defined ideas. Comes prepared to provide technical direction and actively mentors and guides others to contribute to the solution planning.

• Proactively communicates with the team takes responsibility for coordinating projects with team members updates tasks as needed with new information and raises any show-stoppers to the team in a timely fashion. Acts as a resource to unblock and enable the whole team.

• Guide the technical direction for projects ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.

• Takes end-to-end responsibility for projects that require more than the Tech Leader’s own development and may involve multiple services/components.

• Reduces the complexity of projects/services/processes in order to get more done with less work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Proven track record in technical leadership and innovation.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science Software Engineering etc.) or equivalent experience with 8+ years of web application development experience.

• Able to write high-quality code that is easy to read and understand and logically correct.

• Able to write tests that cover as much as is possible and are easy to read and maintain.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
