Technical Accounting Manager
Job Description
The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for providing accounting guidance and support to the entire Finance organization, including accounting policies, emerging technical accounting issues, GAAP training and research, and accounting special projects (implementation of new accounting standards, business combinations, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and footnotes
- Coordinating the external audit process
- Preparing various enterprise-wide analyses
- Providing thought leadership when it comes to properly accounting for transactions and new accounting pronouncements
- Reviewing monthly closing entries and reconciling accounts
- Coordinating and/or participating in regular meetings with business unit partners and external auditors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's a plus)
- CPA required
- Minimum six years of professional accounting experience; at least six years of public accounting firm experience required
- A combination of public accounting firm experience and industry experience is a plus
- Experience preparing financial statements, including statements of cash flows, and footnote disclosures
- Proficient in technical accounting skills (i.e., GAAP knowledge), ability to research technical accounting matters, and practical experience in documenting technical accounting matters
- Strong technology skills with emphasis on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and Microsoft Suite; knowledge of AI tools a plus
- Ability to be flexible/adaptable, work in a fast-paced, complex environment, and meet deadlines within given time frames with multiple competing priorities
- Must possess exemplary organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking, and be comfortable presenting to members of management
- Must be detail-oriented and a proactive individual
- Effective team player with strong initiative and work ethic
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of three days a week in person in the office
