Advisory, Technical Advisory, Director/Senior Director
As a Senior Director, Cloud Advisory, you play an integral part in defining how Avanade views and perceives the marketplace in the categories for which we offer Advisory Services to our clients. You lead rapid current / future modes of operation engagements primarily focused at CIO level to assess client technology, applications, processes and capabilities and create a transformation strategy that has full stakeholder acceptance and buy-in. You create the future state transformation strategy including apps, tooling, infrastructure landscape, hosting/DCs and operating model, to address all stakeholder agreed issues. You also take into account business strategy, guiding principles and ongoing projects that will impact the future mode of operation. You have a significant impact on achievement of corporate objectives, regularly provide high level advice to senior clients and are responsible for strategic management of your area.

The Technical Advisory team provides strategic advice on how best to adopt and optimize Security, Cloud, Enterprise Architecture as well as CIO services to drive digital transformation that align with a client's business strategy, constraints, and technology to produce broader business value. We deliver our broad range of advisory services through an integrated, collaborative approach between our clients and practitioners.
What you'll do
- Uses advanced knowledge to develop a deep understanding of client and competitor business models to advise clients on the challenges and opportunities that arise from customer - related digital disruption.
- Oversee driving of value, leading client engagements, utilizing a deep customer understanding to drive tailored recommendations in translating high level strategy into more localized strategy and operational objectives for large-scale and strategically critical work streams.
- Responsible for leading vendor selection and procurement engagements through request for documents build, requirements engineering including technical, commercial, and contractual frameworks-Engage with executive leadership in effective decision making.
- Guide stakeholders through complex discussion over complex and multi-faceted business, operational and technology challenges.
- Oversee the demonstration of our collective value by utilizing broad and deep experience across a range of customer-centric functions.
- Drive tailored strategic prioritization and plans and in the context of a wider client strategy.
- Lead the strategic direction of your area and report to senior leadership-Responsible for leading and guiding project teams for large scale, strategically critical work efforts requiring significant coordination. You may also manage project budget.
- Guides more junior team members in the delivery of advice on business objectives.
- Oversees the formulation of strategies to meet those business objectives.
Skills and experiences
- Advanced analytical skills in analyzing, disseminating, and interpreting business models and financial reporting to advise clients on the challenges and opportunities that arise from customer-related digital disruption.
- Deep technical knowledge and experience to provide technical advice to senior levels.
- Extensive experience in IT transformation strategy, architecture and operating model background including a comprehensive understanding of current cloud, datacenter and IT infrastructure and applications.
- Experience in running procurement processes including detailed understanding of cost models and commercials.
- Skills acquired through extensive experience, including the ability to convert strategic direction into operational goals, interpret complex information, carry out service redesign and/or manage a significant business segment of a complex organization.
- Advanced or expert technical knowledge and broad knowledge of business operations and organizational strategy.
- Experience leading teams and directing the work of others in a matrixed environment.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills across highly complex problems, often requiring analysis of near-intangible factors, creative solutioning and significant networking. Significant integration of work efforts and inputs are required.
- Being a leader to work others across the organization to achieve a common goal.
Other desired skills include:
- Deep knowledge and experience of common public and private cloud platforms, application architectures; DevOps, IT Operations; IT Security; IT Operating Model
- Systems and infrastructure engineering and operations with one or more hyperscale cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP), leveraging both IaaS and cloud native services
