Job Description
The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking amid-level Technical Analyst to provide technical, analytical, and programmatic support to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) in the investment and monitoring of R&D funds. This position is onsite at a Government location(s) in the National Capital Region (and telecommuting where approved). The candidate demonstrates mature judgementrequired to interface with seniorGovernment personnel and external stakeholders including other Government agencies, academia, and industry.The candidate also coordinates administrative functions and process improvement.

This position requires a candidate withexperience leading and performinga variety of tasks to support Government leaders, providing:
- Science, engineering, technical, management, and professional support
- OUSD(R&E) research, analysis, and strategic planning support for OUSD(R&E) space, cyber, defensive and offensive weapons platforms, resilient communications, battle management/C3, logistics, and program analytics
- Developing graphical materials and documents, to include read aheads, briefings, action memoranda, weekly activity reports, travel reports, emails, etc.
- Performing records management and monitoring deadlines
- Recommending resolution to problem sets/challenges
Required Qualifications:
- BS degree in a relevant technical discipline
- 5+ years of related experience
- Current top secret security clearance
- Experience coordinating across multiple organizations
- Background in OUSD(R&E) Human Systems Directorate programs
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in PPBE, Presidential Budget, Congressional staffer briefs, and R-2 documentation (review/analysis and drafting)
- Experience with Joint operations
- Familiarity with Joint Requirements Oversight Council, Previous SETA experience
- MS or MA degree in a relevant discipline
- TS/SCI clearance (or DCID 6/4 eligibility within the last five (5) years)
