About the Position:
The Technical Architect plays an integral role in the continued growth of Charter’s business with a specific focus on enabling technical success for a Service Delivery team, and its customers. The Technical Architect role brings industry experience and subject-matter expertise working directly with the Charter Sales and pre-sales teams supporting the sales cycle as well as members across the various Service Delivery teams.Â
What You Will Be Doing:
- Partner with Sales and Presales team members in identifying and scoping opportunities.Â
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across Service Delivery teams, delivering on customer business outcomes with high quality and satisfaction.Â
- Attend RFP Go/No-Go meetings when services are specified. Provide technical commentary and opinion to allow the team to come to a consensus decision.Â
- Statement of Work, Tech and Field Assist, and other documentation creation, often directly, other times in conjunction with other team members.
- Contribute to RFP responses where expertise is applicable or work to identify the necessary technical resources to support the response.Â
- Provide support to pre-sales engineers on opportunities when subject matter expertise is required.Â
- Work across Charter to develop and implement best practices required to efficiently deliver quality solutions in a repeatable fashion.Â
- Understand and adopt applicable performance metrics, such as billable utilization targets, and strive to align the team to meet or exceed business goals and objectives set by management.Â
- Collaborate with the Service Delivery Leadership team to help identify gaps, challenges and issues/problems that add risk to Charter and our customers. Carry out any/all identified activities within the team in alignment with management directives.
- Be a Subject Matter Expert within the Charter community on specific technologies and solutions, bringing expertise within the broader technical teams and adjacent business units.
- Support the Charter Sales community, helping to develop new opportunities with customers by bringing technology experience and leadership to pre-sales meetings, services specification, and the writing of Statements of Work and other documents/artifacts.Â
- Contribute to RFP responses when relevant to your subject matter expertise, including Go/No-Go discussions/decisions, technical writing, and services estimates/specification.Â
- Generate bill of material and statement of work with regards to solution designÂ
- Understand client needs and have a strong ability to liaise with both the Charter sales and pre-sales team and client representatives.Â
- Deliver product demonstrations, pilots, and proof-of-concepts (POCs)Â
- Respond to technical escalations, advising and guiding the Delivery teams to bring resolution to problems with a constant focus on the customer, minimizing impact and driving for high satisfaction.Â
- Develop intellectual property (IP) for Charter, through the writing and maintaining of new and existing templates, operating procedures, and best practices.Â
- Provide technical QA (quality assurance) for other members of the team, to ensure quality of delivery and to minimize risks for the customer when adopting new solutions.Â
- Identify and promote the use of tools and automation that help to drive for improved efficiency in delivery.Â
- Work to ensure any/all certifications held personally are keep current and registered with Charter.Â
- Communicate technical design requirements and implementation details both internally and to clients through written documentation and oral presentation.
- Act as a technical coach to assist in growth, performance, and fulfillment, helping to ensure that personal goals are in close alignment with Charter needs.Â
- Participate in mid-year and year-end reviews of technical team members.
- Lead new solution implementation, document and training of other team members.
- Provide guidance to the various Sales Engineers who may be aligned to customers that fall within the assigned market segment or Delivery Business Units.Â
- Promote technical growth within the team by identifying shadowing opportunities between peers, attending partner-led workshops and courses, and striving to obtain certifications that are in line with Charter needs.
- Assist in onboarding new team members, collaborating with People and Culture and management to offer training on tools, processes and key techniques that lead to success.Â
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, distributors, and end customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Will Bring With You:
- 7+ years of experience with enterprise-class network / telecommunication / cloud /security etc. technology solutions.
- 5+ years of experience providing IT services to their respective market segment or Business Unit (either as an employee or a third party).Â
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Telecommunications/IT or a related field.Â
- Senior certifications such as JNCIE, JNCIP, CCIE, CCNP, MCA etc. are considered a strong asset.
- Exemplary planning and organization skills using tools and techniques, both individual and team based, leading to clear and efficient execution and overall high productivity.Â
- Efficient problem-solving and analytical skills, and are solutions orientated.Â
- Strong interpersonal skills: proven team player with ability to deliver outstanding service while building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders.Â
- Ability to communicate and present, clearly and effectively, both verbally and written to technical and business personnel; fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal)Â
- Willingness to learn new systems and vendors, as neededÂ
- Very strong troubleshooting capabilities, with an ability to communicate to others an analytical approach that inspires confidence in other team members and Charter customers.Â
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work modelÂ
- Overtime as required.Â
- Travel may be required (approx. 5-10%)Â
