Overview:

Blue Yonder is seeking a Technical Architect to join our performance engineering team. This team works with both software development and cloud deployment teams to optimize solution performance and establish best practices.

The Technical Architect / Performance Engineer role is responsible for architectural planning and design with a specialization in Performance Tuning and Optimization. Will work closely with the implementation team (Blue Yonder, Client and Partner associates), BY Cloud and BY Product Development to deliver quality solutions to BY Customers. We are seeking a technically passionate leader in performance engineering, solution optimization, capacity analysis and performance tuning.

Current technical environment:

• Software: Java, J2EE, Springboot, Kubernetes, Kafka, Ignite, Elasticsearch, GIT, Rest API, Mulesoft, App Dynamics, Splunk
• Architecture: MS Azure, Microservices, Windows and Linux
• Database: Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Oracle, MySQL, NOSQL

Scope:

• The Technical Architect needs to be able to lead diverse teams, establish plans for performance testing and solution improvement activities, and communicate effectively with peers and senior management. They will collaborate across teams and perform critical problem analysis.
• The Technical Architect will identify performance bottlenecks and make recommendations on the technical design, configuration and performance best practices of the Blue Yonder solutions and databases in order to meet the customer's business requirements.
• Provide technical leadership to manage and improve performance for our Blue Yonder products and SaaS delivered solutions including our new and emerging AI, ML and SaaS solutions.

What you'll do:

Lead all aspects of performance design, tuning and optimization for the Blue Yonder Execution solutions (Warehouse Management, Order Management, Transportation Management). These responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Lead activities to design, develop and execute Performance Load Tests utilizing JMeter, Groovy and Python to simulate workloads and measure throughput and response times of the Blue Yonder solutions. Tools and experience similar to LoadRunner, Cycle, WebLOAD, Silk, BlazeMeter
• Analyze the Technical and Solution Architecture and make recommendations in order to optimize system performance
• Provide technical support to the implementation teams; this includes best practice design, environment setup and configuration
• Utilize performance monitoring and profiling tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Sar, nmon, perfmon, wireshark, fiddler, YourKit, Explain Plans, SQL Server Management Studio, Oracle AWR Reports to detect, isolate, and resolve performance issues
• Assist in analysis, redesign and recommendations to improve application code, database queries, scripts and integrations
• Troubleshoot escalated production issues to assist the Consulting, Cloud and Support Teams in a timely manner
• Act as the liaison to both product development and Consulting/Support/Cloud teams
• Provide inputs to PMs / Client partners for developing project plans and ensure delivery consistent with the project estimates provided

What we are looking for:

• MUST have 5 + years of technical hands-on experience with either the Blue Yonder products or comparable competitor experience in the Execution solutions space
• BS Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Computer Engineering / Mathematics, or related fields (or equivalent work experience)
• Knowledge of SaaS architectures (Azure preferred), server and VM fundamentals
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems; Advance knowledge of - Python, Java, Perl, Korn shell and/or Windows bat/cmd files
• Advanced knowledge of database optimization techniques, database tuning, SQL analysis, access patterns, Explain Plans and Statistics
• Basic knowledge of data integration, messaging and ingestion methods.
• Experience in performance testing or product benchmarking. Knowledge of JMeter, Cycle, Load Runner or other load testing simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of performance concepts including scalability, throughput, latency, resource utilization, multi-threading, and distributed architectures.
• Basic knowledge of Storage Subsystems, including SAN, LVMs and File Systems.
• Ability to resolve complex problems with little to no guidance
• Ability to manage customer expectations regarding technical issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and approaches to tuning and optimization.

Travel: May be required on occasion across the US

*salary range for this will be $83K - 133K*

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
