What you will do
The successful candidate shall support automation solution delivery in JCI, deliver critical solutions and engineering services to enable JCI's business value and digital optimization. This role is accountable for delivering effective solution designs, technical oversight and governance. "Hands on" aspect is key for this role: building enablement items for the development teams and aligning multiple project architectures to the Enterprise Architecture and Automation strategy. Technical Architect needs to have a knowledge of the solution's technology stack, relevant integrations, and applicable business processes. This person needs to be confident, influencing, dependable and excellent communicator.
How you will do it
- Focus on life cycle of the JCI Technology Portfolio at on optimum total cost of ownership
- Provide leadership management of all technical activities including technical architecture, integration design, connectivity, data management and KPIs
- Design workflow solutions, architecture and support estimating the implementation costs for Power Suite (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Azure AI services
- Utilize industry best practices when operating and maintaining existing solutions, and to architect and design automation implementations that reduce overall project risk
- Provide technical and industry-specific subject matter expertise to support requirements gathering, solution design (ensure design meets definition), and technical oversight
- Manage research and evaluate new domain-specific technologies
- Review and approve project technical architecture
- Engage with IT Business Partners and Stakeholders to understand their needs and define technical requirements
- Align solution design to global Architecture and Platform standards/templates
- Work closely with Community of Automation Architects to assure constant compliance of JCI's strategic blueprints and architecture roadmap
- Participate in the integration and automation strategy for existing and new application landscapes as JCI moves to new cloud platforms or applications
- Actively work towards continuous improvements related to architecture for the Power Suite (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Azure/.NET projects
- Support the management team to plan and implement upgrades and migrations in accordance with the technology roadmap
- Communicate with the Enterprise Integration & Automation teams to keep them apprised of project architecture activities and to seek their consultation as necessary
- Educate delivery teams with conceptual designs to ensure that standards are applied to solution build
What we look for
- 1+ years of experience architecting Power Suite (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Azure AI services
- 3+ years of experience in IT with responsibilities in one or more of the areas - Technical Architecture/Engineering, Application Development, Business Process Management and/or Enterprise Application Integration
- Experience building automated flows, Chatbots, MS Dynamics, O365, or SharePoint applications
- Good understanding of DevOps / CI/CD
- Understanding of cloud concepts including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and iPaaS
- Understanding of security concepts such as identity management, authentication, authorization
- Understanding of Agile delivery principles and quality software engineering processes and practice
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Ability to take a lead role and take ownership of complex deliveries
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in IT or similar Technology related degree
- Any Power Platform related certification would be beneficial
- Experience in the following technologies RPA (UiPath, Blue Prisms or others), Appian, APIs (MuleSoft), Machine Learning
- 2-4 years of experience in .NET Suite (C# or VB.net)
- Experience in Document Understanding (OCR)
- Experience with relational databases and SQL scripting
- Fluent in API development, design and consumption
- Understanding of Object-Oriented techniques
- Experience with manufacturing industry a plus
