Technical Artist (Intern)

What We Need:

The NBA2K TechArt team is a diverse group of Technical Artists that perform a wide variety of tasks. We write and maintain tools for the art department, rig the characters, props, and clothing, and do a lot of problem solving.

Our Novato studio is looking for a highly motivated student or graduate who would love an opportunity to learn from expert Technical Artists and improve their rigging and programming skills.

 What You Will Do:

• Assist in rigging and maintaining clothing, and prop assets
• Setup dynamic systems for real-time game assets
• Build and test artwork in the game engine
• Work closely with the character, animation, and/or environment art teams.
• Troubleshoot issues
• Learn and grow with some of the top talent in the industry
• Attend regular team meetings

 Who Will Be A Great Fit:

• Student or recent graduate
• Love for taking on challenging technical assignments
• Passionate about creating great quality art
• Ability to shift priorities
• Comfortable with working in Maya or willingness to learn
• Basic rigging skills
• Can demonstrate skinning of organic models (clothing, characters etc,)
• Understanding of scripting or programming experience, preferably using Python
• Love for video games (not just ours!)
