Technical Associate

Core Responsibilities

• Develop an intimate knowledge of the tools for building and maintaining databases and displays in the Energy Management System (EMS).
• Coordinate with other teams and use available tools to resolve telemetry issues.
• Work with team members to troubleshoot and identify resolutions to system issues.
• Work with a team to support the testing and implementation of custom enhancements and fixes as provided by the vendor.
• Develop knowledge to support power system modeling, state estimator, contingency analysis and power flow analysis supporting real-time operations.
• Uphold the change management process to comply with regulatory and departmental procedures, guidelines, and processes while integrating important updates to protection from cyber vulnerabilities.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree and at least one year of full-time or internship experience (or at least six months of cooperative or summer internships in Con Edison)

Relevant Work Experience

• Familiar with applications that support and maintain real-time operational technology (OT) critical systems. Required
• Demonstrate knowledge of SCADA system displays and have an interest in how an Energy Management System (EMS) works. Required
• Willingness to take on new and unfamiliar project assignments based on changing needs. Required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required
• Must demonstrate a high energy level, understand the vital importance of Commitment to Excellence, and possess a high regard for Con Edison's Corporate Values and Mission. Required
• Knowledgeable in power system modeling, state estimator, contingency analysis and power flow analysis supporting real-time operations. Preferred
• Basic knowledge of Oracle database and SQL queries. Preferred
• Experience working in Linux environment. Preferred

• Driver's License Required

Other Physical Demands

• Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
• Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
