The Technical Automation Solution Specialist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for working with North America Commercial Organization sales leadership to create automation workflow designs and identify closing stage automation customers to begin the solution finalization documentation.

This position is part of the WITS Sales Organization located in North America and will be fully remote. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the North America WITS Sales organization and report to the WITS Sr Dir /Mgr Automation / Workflow responsible for creating laboratory automation designs with our customers, gaining technical approval for the design and assisting in the finalization of documentation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct onsite evaluations of the customer's laboratory tube workflow based on LIS information, process consultant analysis, tube requirements and final workflow demands. Synthesize data into the customer site specification and finalized workflow drawings to clearly document the customer workflow to include gaining customer agreement on their solution.
  • Facilitate communication with the business product development team on new software upgrades, product updates, workflow viability based on field project developments and approval on individual projects.
  • Identifying any technical gaps in the pre-sales process in order to minimize inaccurate workflow, inaccurate proposals and reduction in post-sale change orders.
  • Facilitating various internal calls between the lab automation sales manager, BEC internal IT teams, and the service project teams to begin defining the project.
  • Working with customers to establish clear expectations and metrics for performance required on the customer end in order to achieve their KPIs and a smooth automation transition.

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Bachelor's degree in field with 9+ years experience or Master's degree in field with 7+ years experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment or selling/servicing into a clinical laboratory.
  • Excellent customer-facing presence, presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time in North America for on-site work with clinical laboratory clients.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Demonstrated competencies in areas of continuous improvement, process analysis, laboratory operations, data management and analytics, laboratory automation, system integration and implementation.
  • Expert in automation workflow as well as technical capabilities of BEC products.
  • Experience with computer-aided design software to create precise 2D and 3D drawings

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
