As the Technical Business Analyst, you will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and articulate business and stakeholder requirements, as well as identify the solutions that will maximize the value delivered. You will interview stakeholders, elicit, analyze, specify and validate business, stakeholder, solution and transition requirements, and communicate those requirements to solution and development teams through the software development life cycle (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative). You will also apply proven communication, modeling, analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, negotiation, influence, and leadership skills to ensure stakeholder expectations are met. Additionally, you will:

• Produce requirements on medium-to-large, semi-complex enterprise projects that require planning, elicitation, documentation, analysis, and management of business
• Act as a liaison between the business customer and IT project teams by building cooperative, constructive, effective working relationships with internal and external customers
• Ensure IT understands the business and stakeholder requirements and resolve any gaps in understanding
• Guide and advise less-experienced BAs
• Be responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to management when necessary and updating managers on a regular basis
• Plan and monitor activities for business analysis activities
• Perform a stakeholder analysis to determine potential types and areas of impact associated with the change
• Build a strong relationship with the project manager to ensure a common understanding of the goals, objectives, and scope of a change initiative
• Be responsible for the elicitation of business requirements and related activities
• Use a variety of elicitation techniques to identify the characteristics of the change
• Confirm and communicate what the stakeholders' needs are
• Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders; forms and asks probing questions and actively listens to responses
• Be responsible for activities related to business requirements management and communication
• Translate business concerns, questions, and desires into clear stakeholder requirements through use cases, process diagrams, functional requirements, and others
• Define relationships between various types of requirements
• Trace requirements to business objectives, test cases, and solutions
• Assess the value, urgency, and risk associated with each individual requirement
• Evaluate new and changing requirements for impact to projects
• Work with stakeholders to reach approval and agreement on requirements
• Act as a liaison between the stakeholder and project teams to ensure understanding of the requirements will result in an effective solution
• Be responsible for requirements analysis and design definition
• Analyze the needs in order to recommend a solution or a range of solutions
• Analyze and quantify the potential value of the solution options
• Model and/or tailor requirements so they are understandable and usable by each stakeholder group
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings with representatives from all levels of the organization, vendors, and regulatory agencies as required to support planning, validation/acceptance, and final deployment processes

What You'll Need to be Successful:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or IT OR at least 3 years of experience in IT
• Computer skills and knowledge of hardware and software
• Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Certification/license in Series 6 and 63, and/or CPA
• Experience with requirement analysis and management tools
• Ability to assess/perform peer review of requirements done by others
• Ability to engage, elicit, validate, and present findings to senior leadership
• Proven strong verbal and written communication skills with proved ability to convey information to clients, internal, and external stakeholders, in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to reduce uncertainty and to manage ambiguity
• Ability to deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions
• Experience setting goals and successfully implementing and achieving goals
• Adaptability to adjust to multiple demands/deadlines, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
• Experience creating and working in a team culture that is committed to collaborative cross-functional relationships and service excellence
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organization skills
• Strong awareness and business understanding in regard to the domains that they work in/with
• Ability to mentor and coach less-experienced BAs
• Ability to participate in interviewing candidates for BA positions

Great Additional Skills:

• Knowledge and experience of various insurance industry systems, insurance, and annuity products and/or the product development process
