As part of the Fees Division, the Technical Coordinator supports the team manager in ensuring operational efficiency. This role is responsible for the review and approval of Global Billing activities, from set-ups, period-end invoicing for designated clients, cash application, account opening and closings audits, to billing related special projects. This role also serves as one of the primary contacts for all fee related analysis and inquiries from our business partners. The Technical Coordinator will demonstrate a firm understanding of our processes, the risk associated with them, their impact to the Bank's financial statements and to our clients. They serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level staff. The Technical Coordinator will adhere to the compliance guidelines and internal auditing requirements of the Bank and assist the Fees Leadership Team with ensuring best practices are being followed.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Reviewer and approver of Global Billing activities, from set-ups, period-end invoicing for designated clients, cash application, account openings and closing audits, to billing related special projects within department deadlines
  • Provide training, cross-training and coaching of team members on all Global Billing activities to ensure depth and a well-rounded team
  • Acts as the first point of escalation for risk and control related matters for the team4. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to staff
  • Prioritize daily tasks to ensure productivity, accuracy and timeliness expectations are met in accordance to the established guidelines of the division
  • Work in collaboration with our business partners to ensure accurate and timely deliverables to the client and solving of billing related issues
  • Serve as a key liaison between Fee Billing, SOX, internal and external auditors, and other operational areas to provide analytical and procedural expertise
  • Champion strategic initiatives to enhance performance and productivity
  • Assist in the review of control documentation, including risk and control self-assessment and SOX 404
  • Assist in the UAT testing associated with fee related initiatives
  • Provide support for internal and external requests
  • Communicate and escalate issues to Fee Management/Leadership Team as required
  • Maintain policies and procedures and utilize best practices
  • Actively participate in establishing a robust control environment, including understanding and adherence to all controls for Fee Billing
  • Champion strategic initiatives to enhance performance and productivity

Qualifications - External

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or demonstrate knowledge of the Financial Services industry
  • 5+ years of related experience in Global Billing, Accounts Payable or Payroll
  • Detailed-oriented, team player with an analytical mind, and good problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good time management, ability to multi-task, prioritize work and provide timely feed-back to management
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment with a flexible approach towards changing work methods, deadlines and variable workloads
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Strong mathematical skills, proficient with Excel
