What we need?

We’re looking for a copywriter who can create, edit, and proofread technical content.

We need someone who can craft microcopy that gets the message across clearly and quickly in UI elements, in-app messages, navigation, and headings.

But we also need someone who can switch to refining copy written by others, including blog posts, landing pages, tutorials, and documentation.

What you will be doing?

• You’ll be part of the marketing team, reporting to the Head of Content, and working closely with the Content Team and other Apify teams.
• Work with our UX/UI designers to make sure that text across all parts of the Apify platform is accurate and understandable.
• Collaborate with the Apify Store Team to refine and improve Actor documentation and UI elements.
• Assist in copywriting for advertising campaigns, hiring, events, and other promotional activities.
• Edit meta titles, meta descriptions, and other copy across the Apify platform to improve the user experience both on the website and in search engine results.
• Assist with editing and proofreading content, including blog posts, case studies, newsletters, video scripts, and social media posts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Ultimately maintain and document UX and microcopy content guidelines to bring all Apify content in line with a coherent approach.

Who are we looking for?

• You have 5+ years of experience in copywriting and editing, and can demonstrate that you’ve worked across a variety of projects.
• Portfolio of UX and microcopy writing. You need to be able to show us what you did, why you did it, and explain the results.
• Experience in a technical environment or a technical background is a plus. You’ll need to use platforms like GitHub to edit copy, and should understand how to communicate value to a developer audience.
• Strong proofreading and editing skills with attention to detail.
• Fluent English (C2 level) that translates into clear, concise copy, zero typos, and no clunky phrases.

What we expect from you in the first six months:Month 1:

1. You’ll receive orientation and training to help you learn our company culture, values, and how the various teams work together Apify.
2. Learn about our tools, processes and workflows to understand where you fit in.
3. Take on small, assigned tasks, with guidance, to get used to our style, tone, and audience.

Months 2-3:

1. Start to take on ownership of channels and projects, but with extensive guidance from established team members.
2. Start to work with other teams to refine and improve copy.
3. Take on more editing and proofreading, especially of technical content.
4. Extend your knowledge of search engine optimization techniques and where they’re relevant to your copy.
5. Complete an onboarding demo to become familiar with all aspects of the Apify platform and Apify Actors.

Months 4 and beyond:

1. Take on full ownership of selected projects and tasks. You will be responsible for planning, progress, and completion.
2. Start compiling UX and microcopy guidelines for developers, designers, and any other team members who need to generate copy before you get the chance to edit it.
3. Be instrumental in establishing workflows that make it easier for you and others to get copy from first draft to publication.

By following this timeline, you'll gradually become a key member of the Content Team and be on track to take on even more responsibility by the end of your first year.
