Technical Design Lead - Creative Studios
Job Description
Bungie is looking for a Technical Design Lead in Publishing Creative Studios (CS) to lead our Technical Design team, which is responsible for designing and building advanced cinematic gameplay capture tools and workflows. In collaboration with the Director of Operations and Capture Art Lead, you will help set the technical standards and workflows needed to show off Bungie’s IPs to their full potential. Informed by our Development, Marketing, and Publishing Leads, you’ll empower a team of Technical Designers to build and improve upon the virtual set environments that are used when creating our engaging and information-laced high-impact videos. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Creative Studios Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the technical design team to deliver tools and workflows for gameplay capture and help guide the documentation standards that are used to inform and guide new users of the gameplay capture suite.
- Develop and support a healthy, collaborative team environment focused on aiding partner teams in achieving their goals
- Collaborate with our Creative Studios and Gameplay Capture leads to enhance and support the creation of live gameplay capture
- In partnership with the Capture Art Lead, mentor and guide members of the Capture Art Team to ensure best practices in support of the creation of Trailers, ViDocs, B-Roll, Social and Reference Videos
- Lead the development of technical pipelines including the development of new prototypes that enhance the capabilities of existing systems in creative ways
- Be the primary point of contact for implementation of complex content that stretches the capability of existing systems and projects that require heavy design/engineer interactions
- Drive alignment and creative conversations between capture artists, video directors, designers, artists, and engineers
- Actively contribute to planning meetings and creative kickoffs and represent the technical design team
- Work with Production and Operations to understand upcoming releases and plan support structures needed to demonstrate new gameplay mechanics and features
- Drive actionable technical feedback from creative leads and other stakeholders
- When required, operate and leverage in-development capture tools to enable compelling captures
REQUIRED SKILLSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Experience managing and leading a diverse team in games, entertainment, publishing or marketing
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems that impact the team's productivity
- Driven to establish a collaborative environment with other disciplines
- Significant experience developing and improving capture tools and workflows throughout the iterative phases and challenges of game development
- Familiarity working with game development engines and content creation tools
- Advanced Knowledge of cinematography tools used in film and animation as well as an understanding of applying filming techniques to game capture, such as camera moves, DOF, lens choice, etc.
- Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with little supervision
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLSÂ Â Â Â
- Experience working with proprietary game engines and workflows
- Real world animation or cinematographic technical experience
- Passion for storytelling in film development and a creative eye
- Familiarity with Bungie's current and past releases

- 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
